Athletic background: Soccer since I was a kid until high school, 3 years cross country and 4 years indoor and outdoor track in high school (competed in high jump, long jump, and running events-anywhere from the 200m sprint to the mile).
I was introduced to CrossFit in May 2008. I was looking for an internship at the time to complete my Exercise Science degree at Virginia Commonwealth University. After some searching, I talked to a friend who told me about CrossFit Alexandria, known now as Outlaw, and quickly found a comfortable niche in the crossfit community. Not only has it helped me develop further as an athlete, but I’ve learned way more than I ever did in the practical application of instructing/training than from my 4 years of pursuing my degree in college. Nothing makes me happier than seeing clients accomplish goals that they would not have otherwise reached on their own for whatever reason. I have always had an interest in helping others improve their health and fitness, and I am doing just that- teaching people how to make their quality of life better. And in the process, I found a second family .
